Although it may seem rather…inconsequential to incite correction upon the paradigm in use since the 19th century, I find its enduring nature in the promise of classification to an ever more complex conversation is to be somewhat problematic. Our 21st century cannot cope with ever relevant truths finding themselves simmering to the surface, and although it pains me to be behind the curve on the discussion of this topic; I will nonetheless bring light on a theory I have been formulating in understanding how societies react they way they do to all manner and forms of subversion and construction.
Reaction and its series of subversions and constructions.
If but taken at a precursory glance Human History would seem as but a long line of Cthulu’s ever persistent swimming upon it’s own side of History. I do not see it that way. I would like to ask of the current reader to take it upon his or herself to view actions and movements, interlinked in time along the fluid course of Human History as groups of men reacting to events in an adverse way. In this antagonistic position the out-group seeks to utilize agency to produce change in the environment; this change can be seen either from a subversive point of view or a constructive point of view, views I will proceed to explain in depth.
Subversion as reaction
I will proceed at some length to explain how reaction itself can be subversive if not merely as a reaction in a counter-cultural sense. We know that subversion only takes organizations and societies ONE way, but is that not merely the understanding that as the civilizational organism proceeds along its lifespan that it eventually decays, merely proving entropy as a living breathing element in the universe? I believe this living entropy plays a crucial part in ALL reaction, and that some elements of reaction though attempting subversion in nature is but simply rebellion against entropy itself? We can take the American Alternative-right for example; at its core its an attempt at subverting society away from civilizational entropy that has been rearing its ugly head in the grotesque forms of trans-whatever-isms and all of its alitys. The movements desire is to create something by subverting the cultural heart through the correction of the prevailing mythology. In its attempt to subvert it has proceeded to almost seemingly counteract the current decay causing an ideological standstill on all sides, and forcing those who were originally net neutral in their views to take the third way side of the political discussion. Many members of the current ruling class now seek to keep people uninformed by eliciting that both sides of the argument are extreme and their rise is but an over reaction to what is in fact perfectly healthy and normal in society. I see this form of Reaction as but a stopgap in the collapse of polite society and the swapping of the ruling class.
Construction as reaction
The idea of construction is exactly what you might imagine it to be. A group of men desiring to rebuild/create from the ashes of civilizational ruin. Utilizing lessons learned from Cthulu’s reaction untoward civilizational oblivion. This type of reaction is founded in a desire for anti-entropic action, although all organisms must die, the current organism will die, but will not die without a ready successor in her place. The desire is to utilize policies and ideas that worked long ago and adapt them to the way it uses nature to create a system more resilient than the last to delay entropic forces. The passive nature required to play the long game requires that, our agency must somehow extend beyond our lifespans, which is a tough sell to most because we imagine agency as actions that we have that can affect the here and now, and are something we control. Although I must ask what is agency when we are a reactive movement to societal decay, it is hard to sell agency when you had no control over the forces that got us here in the first place. Hence the desire to simply understand the fall and let it go on its merry way.
Utilizing this model as a means of statesmanship
Although this model may seem like a hard sell, I tell you it can work on a meta-political level, when understanding a cultures inevitable rise and fall throughout the ages utilizing both subversion and construction can facilitate a lasting society over a longer period. Knowing how to successfully gage subversive and constructive movements can play a big part in ensuring the proper flow of meta-political events in a beneficial way that can effectively counter societal decay.
Even then, I might just be blowing smoke and my observation is completely ludicrous without any shred of thought and foresight. I hope this helps someone in understanding meta-political reaction and can hopefully provide a different point of view on societal decay.
Sincerely,
Red
